About the Role This is an exciting opportunity to work with people experiencing mental illness within a community-based setting, delivering person-centred care and support that promotes recovery and wellbeing. The successful candidate will be required to contribute to the on-call after hours service delivered by the team for psychiatric crisis/emergencies in the community. This equates to 9 shifts a month working full time. If you are not already a Duly Authorised Officer you would be expected to complete this training within your first year of employment. Remuneration for these duties is in addition to your salary as a Registered Nurse. This is a Monday to Friday position, offering the opportunity to work collaboratively across community services while maintaining a healthy work-life balance. As the role involves providing care and support within the community, a full driver's licence is essential. The Southern Rivers Community Mental Health Team provides both acute and non-acute mental health community services for people aged 18 years and over who have been diagnosed with a significant mental illness. About you Our ideal candidate will: Be a New Zealand Registered Nurse with a scope of practice in Mental Health and a current APC Have recent mental health experience either in a community or inpatient setting Have a strong sense of ‘self', a positive ‘can do' attitude, along with a commitment to working cohesively in a dynamic multidisciplinary team Have excellent time management, interpersonal and organisational skills The ability to be adaptable, flexible and solution focused Hold a current full New Zealand drivers licence Working at Health New Zealand Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is dedicated to ensuring excellent healthcare for the people of New Zealand.
