Graeme Dingle Foundation – Hamilton, North Island The Graeme Dingle Foundation is a leading child and youth development charity. We want every young person to know that what they have inside them is greater than any obstacle. Our mission is to make NZ the best place in the world for kids to grow up. Role and Team: The Graeme Dingle Foundation Waikato are looking for energetic and self-motivated person to join our Kiwi Can whānau. We have a permanent Kiwi Can Leaderrole available for the right person! Immediate start! 30 hour week at our Waikato Kiwi Can partner primary schools in Huntly and Kirikiriroa Hamilton. Kiwi Can sets a foundation of values and life skills that tamariki take with them through kura/school and into later life. Each student visits a Kiwi Can class once a week to enjoy a positive, uplifting environment that encourages self-belief and confidence. Working in teams of two but as part of a close-knit broader team, you and your team mate will plan, prepare and deliver high quality lessons and activities for students aged 5-12. Being looked up to as a big brother / big sister for students, you will role model the Kiwi Can values of integrity/Pono and respect/whakaute, and help build resilience in our tamariki. Specifically you will: Create and deliver fun & energetic activities Interpret lesson plans and tailor to the class and situation Build confidence and shape values Empower students to overcome challenges Build strong relationships with school and community leaders Full training and development will be provided. Have a tangible impact in the lives of young New Zealanders Become an integral and respected member of a school community Receive regular training and development Up to 3 weeks additional paid leave during school holidays Become part of a close-knit work whaanau About You: To be successful in this role you will have the ability to: Engage with young people and really connect Some experience in Youth work, coaching, Sport and Recreation would be beneficial! Maintain a high level of positivity and enthusiasm Work both independently and in a team environment Have the drive and passion to make a difference in the community! Have a good understanding of Tikanga Full license The ability to work in New Zealand through citizenship, residency or a work visa, is a must - anyone without these credentials will not be considered.
