In our Grid Development Division, the Strategy, Performance and Risk team, manage asset strategy, risk and resilience, report on grid performance, and model asset health and criticality for our Asset Planning internal customers, who incorporate the insights into their planning and prioritisation of work. About the team The Network Performance team maintains Transpower’s grid event and performance datasets (asset failures, outages, and service interruptions) and turns them into analysis and reporting that supports regulatory and compliance disclosures, reliability improvements, and grid development and connection work. The opportunity As Performance Analyst,you’llturn complex grid events into clear, trusted insights that help improve reliability, guide investment decisions, and support regulatory reporting.You’llwork with operational and asset information from across the business to produce high-quality datasets and practical analysis people can act on. Using the Event Recording & Reporting (ER&R) system,you’llrecord and analyse events, investigate root causes, and write System Fault & Interruption Reports (SFIRs) by bringing together inputs from multiple systems and teams. Success looks like: Accurate,timelyperformance data and analysis that is routinely used to inform decisions and prioritisation. Clear, well-evidenced SFIRs suitable for internal use andexternal use. Improved, more automated data capture and reporting processes that reduce manual effort and lift consistency. What will you bring? You’llbring relevant qualifications (or equivalent experience), along with the confidence to work with a range of stakeholders and explain technical information in plain language.You’reorganised and able to prioritise well, balancing competing deadlines while keeping quality high. To be considered your CV and cover letter willdemonstrate: Data analysis and modelling skills to manipulate,validate, and interpret complex datasets (e.g., Excel/Power BI/SQL/Python). Demonstrated ability to connect and reconcile data across multiple sources to buildan accuratesequence of events and generate new insights. Working knowledge of physical assets and failure modes; ideally within electricity networks or similar infrastructure. Strong technical writing skills to produce clear, evidence-based reports fora range ofdifferentaudiences. A continuous improvement mindset—able to streamline and automate data capture, reporting, and analysis (including exploring AI-enabled ways of working).
