MASSAGE THERAPIST ROLE Up to 3 full-time positions (30 hours)are well suited to a candidate that is passionate about their career and helping people while looking to gain hands-on experience in a thriving, supportive and friendly environment. We are looking for a person who has the following skills: Hold a Diploma or Certificate in Massage Therapy (inc. Relaxation & Deep Tissue) Must be willing to work weekends* Passionate about health and wellness. Motivated, Reliable, and Punctual. Exceptional customer service Great presentation. Warm and caring personality. Delivering 5-star treatments with the highest level of quality. Proven track record to establish long-term relationships with local clientele. Bonus Skills: Additional experience or qualifications in Hot Stone Massage, Maternity, Aromatherapy, Reflexology, Indian Head, Remedial, Body Treatments etc. Additions Fluent in spoken and written English Eligible to live and work in New Zealand. An opportunity to join an amazing team & learn new skills Paid in-house spa training Uniforms supplied at no cost Job Description Position purpose Provide expert services to customers, including professional massage in order to assist healing, improve blood circulation, and to ease muscle aches and pains to our clients, To consult, assess and evaluate clients conditions. A thorough knowledge of massage techniques is required and you must possess an understanding of body treatments. Must have excellent communications skills and be willing to be trained on the spa specific standards, including offering aftercare advise and retail solutions. Core objectives include: Assess clients physical condition and case history during a consultation Advise clients on treatment routines available, stretching and relaxation techniques Massage soft tissue of the body for relaxation and to assist healing Apply massage techniques to body to enhance performance and prevent injury Combine massage techniques to promote relaxation, improve circulation and relieve tension Assess and treat areas of concern such as acupressure, heat therapy, essential oils, herbal, mineral and wet compressions to aid healing and improve massage experience Every Morning Check and set up room for the clients Prepare towels for the hot cabinet Check client notes prior to treatments Prepare oils and products for all treatments for the day Be ready for the first client so your day runs smoothly Other Duties Fulfil other duties as required by management and other department personnel as requested/required. Person Specification Qualifications Diploma or certificate in Massage and Beauty Therapy or equivalent Experience Practical experience working in a spa or clinic for at least one year (required) Knowledge Must have a thorough knowledge of massage techniques and possess understanding of body and beauty treatments. Communication: the ability to communicate clearly and concisely, varying communication style depending upon the audience.
