About the Role: The primary purpose of this role is to carry out a variety of maintenance activities across DGC's manufacturing assets to maximise plant reliability and efficiency. This will involve carrying out Preventive Maintenance tasks, responding to breakdowns and participating in the company after hours support roster. As a Maintenance Fitter you will closely integrate with manufacturing teams to resolve plant issues ensuring exceptional reliability and equipment effectiveness. Collaboration with a variety of people within our teams and vendor companies is key to this role to ensure effective delivery and great maintenance outcomes. About the Duties: Carrying out preventive maintenance activities and associated corrective actions. Playing a lead role in proactively identifying and troubleshooting plant issues. Contributing to plant shut maintenance planning and organisation of parts and materials. Integrating with manufacturing teams to deliver reliability. Identifying and contributing to performance improvement projects and opportunities. Support the Risk Management Programme (RMP) and meeting all required quality, hygiene and food safety standards. Participating in the on-call roster and attending to breakdowns after hours where required. Key skills and experiences: Fitter trade certification e.g. National Certificate in Engineering. Strong mechanical engineering background. Experience within a food manufacturing environment. Optional: Advanced trade qualification. Optional: NZCE - Mechanical Engineering. Understanding of Reliability Centered Maintenance practices. Understanding of quality systems compliance. Solid self-management skills and ability to work autonomously. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Attention to detail & ability to prioritise. Strong organisational skills & problem-solving skills. The Right Opportunity for You?
