Are you a heavy-vehicle pro looking to shift gears? CRV Equipment - Heavy Machinery & Mechanical Specialists , are looking for a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team! What You'll Do As our Diesel Mechanic, you won't just be turning wrenches; you'll be a technical problem-solver, supporting our team to maintain and repair a diverse fleet of trucks, plant equipment and heavy machinery. Your responsibilities will include: Diagnostics & Repair: Troubleshooting complex engine, transmission, and drivetrain issues using both traditional mechanical skills and modern diagnostic software. System Maintenance: Servicing and repairing hydraulic, pneumatic, and electronic systems to ensure maximum uptime for our clients. Preventative Care: Carrying out scheduled servicing, fleet inspections, and COF pre-checks to keep Whanganui's heavy transport road-worthy and safe. Component Overhauls: Stripping, repairing, and rebuilding major components including engines, gearboxes, and differentials. In-Field Servicing: Providing on-site repairs and breakdown assistance when our clients need us most. Quality Documentation: Completing accurate service reports and job sheets to maintain our high standards of safety and accountability. What We're Looking For We need a technician who takes pride in their craft and understands that "near enough" isn't good enough. You should have: Proven Experience: A solid background as a Heavy Diesel Mechanic (Trucks, Earthmoving, Construction, Agricultural machinery or Plant equipment). Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of diesel engine technology, hydraulics, and electrical systems. Relevant Licensing: A valid NZ Driver's License (Class 2 or 4 is highly desirable). An F-Endorsement is a significant plus. Diagnostic Skills: The ability to read schematics and use diagnostic tools to find the root cause of a problem quickly. Reliability: A "get it done" attitude, a focus and commitment to health and safety, and a desire to be part of a high-performing team.
