The Opportuntiy: The role is responsible for leading, developing, and embedding a proactive health and safety culture across the manufacturing and warehousing operations of the EBOS Animal Care Division in New Zealand. This role ensures compliance with theHealth and Safety at Work Act 2015 (HSWA) and associated regulations, while driving continuous improvement in safety performance, risk management, and worker engagement. The role is responsible for coordinating and providing hands on support and advice and on key health and safety requirements such as risk assessments, hazard management, legislative compliance, training, technical advice, audits/inspections, coaching, incident investigations, consultation, strategic objectives and health and wellbeing programs. Primarily based in Paeroa, the role is also responsible for supporting all Animal Care businesses in New Zealand including SVS, PPD, Masterpet and Endeavour Consumer Health. What you will do: WHS operations and compliance & risk management Communication and consultation Hazard and Risk Management Strategy, innovation and continual improvement Stakeholder Engagement What we are looking for: Tertiary qualifications within relevant field of WHS or related discipline and/or equivalent industry experience. Significant experience (5 – 10+ years) and a practical understanding of manufacturing and/or high-risk workplaces. Effective working knowledge of the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 and NZ regulatory framework. Strong working knowledge of critical risk and hazard management. Solid health and safety knowledge with experience in manufacturing and warehousing. Demonstrated experience in implementing WHS management systems in manufacturing. Strong working knowledge of incident investigation principles and demonstrated ability to investigate incidents. Demonstrated ability to influence, coach, and engage leaders and frontline teams. Strong people skills and consultative leadership style. Strong written and verbal communication skills Demonstrated ability to effectively engage with a broad range of stakeholders in relation to both strategic and operational matters. Ability to travel and work across multiple sites in New Zealand. Flexibility to respond to incidents outside of standard hours when required.
