Middlemore Hospitalserves a population of approximately 560,000, providing vital services across all major specialties We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Haematologist to join our existing team of 7 Haematologists on a 9-month fixed term contract between January and 8thOctober 2027 covering parental leave. As a consultant Haematologist you will be providing a full diagnostic service and treatment for patients with haematological diseases in the Counties Manukau region.The department has an in-patient ward, chemotherapy day ward, outpatient clinics, thrombosis service and haematology laboratory and blood bank services all located on-site.We also run an active clinical research programme in conjunction with Aotearoa Clinical Trials and opportunities will exist within this role to further develop your own research skills and experience.You will be expected to participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and collaborate with an established team of nursing, allied health and scientific staff to ensure that patients receive optimal care.There is a strong focus on training of junior medical and nursing staff.Counties Manukau is home to New Zealands most diverse population, so there is plenty of opportunities to deal with complex and challenging clinical issues. The Haematology position is a 0.8 FTE role between Monday and Friday and there is the opportunity for 0.2 FTE additional research hours to make this a full-time position.
