This project involves preparing, annotating and publishing a major archive of interviews with first-language speakers from one North American Indigenous group. These recordings will become enduring language resources that support teaching, learning, research and community access. We are seeking an experienced Language Annotation Specialist to join the pilot phase of this important work. Using ELAN, you will create high-quality, time-aligned annotations from recorded interviews with first language speakers. Your work will contribute directly to the preservation, accessibility and revitalisation of the language. The initial contract covers a pilot of twenty interviews and includes helping establish annotation conventions and workflows that will scale to a much larger archive. Creating time-aligned annotations using ELAN. Segmenting and annotating spoken language recordings. Working with translations already completed manually. Applying consistent annotation standards and conventions. Preparing metadata and undertaking quality assurance. Collaborating with linguists, language experts and the project team. Helping develop efficient, repeatable annotation workflows for a large-scale language documentation programme. Immediate availability required.
