Ministry for Primary Industries NZ – Tauranga, North Island Salary band& range :GeneralSalaryRangeD/E:$87,008to$112,314depending on skills and experience Asa Biosecurity Auditoryou willdeliververification programmes at higher risk, complexity and priority businesses approved under the Biosecurity Act 1993. In thisrole,youwillbe responsible forauditing verification programmes that strengthen New Zealand's biosecurity system and reduce the risk of pests and diseases entering the country. You will: Deliver verification programmes for high-risk containment and transitional facilities Conduct investigationsand unannounced verification where required The role plays a vital role in protecting NZ primary industries and provides assurance for trade which underpins New Zealand's economy and wellbeing. We are looking for someone who: Has experience working in laboratory or containment settings, and has an understanding of laboratory practices and operational processes Previous auditing experience would be an advantage Is a self-starter and can work as part of a team and independently Is resilient and is results-focused Has clear and effective communication skills, both written and verbal Has demonstrated ability to listen and engage to form professional relationships Has experience in making timely decisions, balancing the desire for complete information with the need to progress important or urgent matters Experience providing technical guidance, coaching, and direction to staff and stakeholders on regulatory and compliance matters Proven experience leading and delivering assurance, review, and compliance-related programmes across complex environments Experience leading investigations, reviews, audits, or assessments to address organisational risks, issues, and performance challenges Holdsa full New Zealanddriver'slicense This role may require some travel within New Zealand. Biosecurity New Zealand (BNZ) plays a critical role in preventing harmful organisms crossing New Zealand's borders. It manages border and compliance activities as well as preparing for, and responding to, any biosecurity incursions that may occur. This role will report to theTeam Manager Containment and Audits, working in a dedicated teamofBiosecurity Auditors across the country. You will receive comprehensive training and be provided with support from the team to ensure your success in this role.
