Operator Recycling & Spotter

Job Description We’re looking for a reliable and motivated Operator & Spotter – Recycling to join our team at the WM North Shore Refuse & Recycling Transfer Station. This is a hands-on role, supporting the smooth and safe operation of our recycling and transfer station site while helping to maximise resource recovery. What you’ll be doing Preparing daily VCR reporting for the Sort Line facility. Carrying out pre-start checks, basic maintenance, and post-operation cleaning of the Sort Line equipment. Performing sorting duties on the conveyor line during scheduled shifts. Providing backup support to the Sort Line excavator and loader operator. Controlling waste and recyclable placement to maximise recovery. Directing customer traffic and assisting with general enquiries. Maintaining site cleanliness, including grounds, buildings, and landscaping. Undertaking general labouring and litter collection as needed. Supporting administrative tasks and ensuring accurate completion of records. Meeting recycling and diversion targets to reduce landfill waste. Qualifications What we’re looking for A current Class 1 driver licence with W, T, R endorsements . Previous experience in waste, recycling, or machinery operation is an advantage. Strong attention to health and safety, with a proactive and practical approach to work. Good communication skills and a customer-service focus.
