Our client is a well-established, globally connected technology business based in Auckland. They operate mission-critical digital trading platforms used by customers across more than 70 countries, handling billions of dollars in transactions annually. About the Role This is a hands-on DevOps Engineer role where you'll take ownership of cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines for one of the company's core platforms - an Azure-based cloud environment. You'll be embedded within a small, experienced engineering team, working closely with developers and operations stakeholders to keep systems running smoothly and to drive continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or equivalent tooling Build and manage Azure cloud infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code (Terraform), with best practices for provisioning, security, and cost efficiency Containerise and orchestrate applications using Docker and/or Kubernetes Automate manual and repetitive tasks across the software delivery lifecycle Provide live monitoring and support during trading operations, including pre- and post-event support and reporting Implement security best practices and ensure compliance with industry standards Monitor system performance and respond to incidents proactively to maintain high availability Contribute to disaster recovery planning and business continuity processes Collaborate with developers, architects, and product managers to align infrastructure with application needs Identify opportunities for performance and cost optimisation across cloud environments What You'll Bring 5+ years of hands-on experience with Azure (primary) and/or AWS cloud environments Proven experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines — GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar Solid experience with Terraform (infrastructure-as-code) Strong working knowledge of Docker; Kubernetes experience is highly advantageous Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or PowerShell Experience with monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK Stack Database knowledge — SQL Server experience preferred At least 2 years working in Agile teams (Scrum or Kanban) Strong communication skills — comfortable engaging with both technical and non-technical stakeholders A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience Bonus Points For Azure DevOps Expert or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer certification Experience with microservices architectures and SecOps practices Background in financial services, trading platforms, or similarly high-availability environments Opportunity to work on high-impact, globally used platforms!
