Job Description
Bethlehem School is seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and committed Teacher Aide to join our dedicated Learning Support team for 20 hours per week. This is a fixed-term contract position until December 14, 2026. There may be potential for it to be extended. This is an opportunity to make a real difference by supporting students to participate, achieve, and thrive in an inclusive learning environment. Working alongside teachers and specialist staff, you will help create positive learning experiences that build confidence, independence, and success for every learner. About the Role As a Teacher Aide, you will: Support individual students and small groups in the classroom. Assist students to engage with learning programmes and classroom activities. Encourage independence, confidence, and positive learning behaviours. Work collaboratively with teachers to implement learning and wellbeing strategies. Help create a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom environment. Prepare learning resources and assist with classroom organisation. Maintain respectful, professional relationships with students, staff, and whānau. We Are Looking For Someone Who: Enjoys working with children and values inclusive education. Is patient, caring, and able to build positive relationships. Demonstrates initiative while working effectively as part of a team. Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Is flexible, reliable, and adaptable to changing learner needs. Maintains confidentiality and professional standards. Is committed to ongoing learning and professional growth. Previous experience working with children or students with additional learning needs is desirable but not essential. Relevant qualifications or experience in education support would be an advantage.
