Job Description
Ready to make a real impact on animal health and farming in Northland? DairySmart is looking for a driven, Northland based practical and people-savvy sales person to join our agritech team and bring our world-first mastitis diagnostic technology to farmers across the region. About Us We’re an agritech startup revolutionising how dairy farmers detect and manage mastitis—one of the industry’s most costly diseases. Our diagnostic system enables fast, accurate, and on-farm identification of mastitis-causing pathogens, helping reduce antibiotic use and boost herd health. About the role You’ll be the face of DairySmart in Northland — meeting farmers, cold calling, generating leads, running product demos, and following up with interested farms. You’ll also build great working relationships with rural veterinary clinics, from reception staff and vet techs through to the clinical team. A good chunk of this role happens in the shed — running demos, testing samples, and talking shop with farmers while they work — so you’ll want to be at ease around cows and comfortable getting stuck in alongside milking. You’ll work independently with flexible hours (20 per week), ideally suiting someone with a dairy or veterinary background looking for part-time work with a big purpose. Key responsibilities Proactively cold call and visit dairy farms to introduce DairySmart solutions Follow up on warm and hot leads from marketing and referrals Build trusted relationships with farmers, understanding their herd health needs Develop and maintain strong relationships with veterinary clinics and practice staff Run on-farm and in-clinic demonstrations and training, including in the milking shed Collaborate with the broader DairySmart sales and support team Track activities and results in our CRM and report on progress About you Strong understanding and experience in dairy farming and herd health — mastitis experience is a big plus Comfortable spending time in the shed, with hands-on experience milking cows and handling animals Sales instincts and a love of the chase — you’re confident, persistent, and people-oriented Practical mindset with a hands-on, down-to-earth approach Excellent communicator — able to talk with farmers, vets, vet techs and reception staff alike Self-motivated and able to work independently in the field Based in Northland with access to your own vehicle (travel reimbursed) Flexible hours to fit around farming, family or other commitments Commission on sales with a generous monthly retainer A high-impact role helping improve animal health and reduce antibiotic use Supportive team and full training provided on our tech #J-18808-Ljbffr
