Auckland Restorative Justice Trust – Auckland, North Island Join our team to play a pivotal role in Restorative Justice within the criminal justice system. Auckland Restorative Justice Trust (ARJT) is seeking a dedicated professional to fill the role of Operations Coordinator to coordinate our Operations, Integrity and Quality Team who are equally involved in the ARJT referral process and work alongside our General Manager. Auckland Restorative Justice Trust (ARJT) is a registered charitable Trust since 2009, a non-profit organisation contracted by the Ministry of Justice to deliver restorative justice services within the criminal justice system in the Auckland, North Shore, and Manukau DistrictCourts. Our team of passionate professionals work closely with three district courts, Police, and the community to facilitate meaningful conversations between victims and offenders, whānau and community members to repair harm caused by crime. The Restorative Justice Operations Coordinator role is to coordinate the completion of daily administrative tasks from RJ referral to completion of a court report and to provide administration support for our General Manager. Key Responsibilities: Receive referrals from three Auckland District Courts, up to 1600 per year. Coordinate referrals with the screening team Allocate cases to RJ Facilitators, including Family Violence RJ Facilitators Liaise and maintain relationships with key stakeholders including (but not limited to) court staff, counsel, ARJT Court Coordinators. Upload information into the ARJT CRM. This is a bespoke CRM for Restorative Justice Providers Communicate with and provide timely support to the RJ Facilitators Work closely with the accounts team to ensure all the invoices are correct. This may require communication with interpreters, RJ Facilitators or contractors Work closely with the GM to provide administrative tasks. This includes preparation for meetings, overseeing the GM calendar, arranging meetings, admin support during team recruitment and annual reviews and general daily admin support, as requested. Principles and Compliance: Uphold and advocate the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi, focusing on partnership, participation, protection, and Māori capacity building. Adhere to health and safety protocols and manage any related incidents. Requirements: To be successful in this role: You must have a valid New Zealand driver’s licence You must agree to a Police check organised by ARJT. This role is 30 hours a week, starting with 20 hours a week on the 1st of September and gradually increasing to 30 hours by November 2026. The salary is $69,000 for 1.0FTE (pro rata). This role is for a fix term of 18 months. Experience & Skills: Knowledge or experience in restorative justice practices is preferred. Familiarity with the New Zealand Judicial Court System. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, with a willingness to ongoing learning. Strong communication, planning, and time management skills. Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively with diverse cultural groups with a deep understanding and respect for diverse cultures, practices, and beliefs. Exceptional attention to detail with an emphasis on accuracy in all documentation and processes. Ability to adapt to a variety of situations with self-awareness and professionalism. Efficient management of multiple priorities, maintaining focus and productivity under pressure. Capability to handle high caseloads and sensitive cases with composure. Strong proficiency in both written and verbal communication, ensuring clarity and effectiveness. Applicants must be eligible to work in New Zealand.
