We're looking for an Occupational Therapist to join our concussion team at our St Lukes clinic. Working within our Concussion service, you'll support people recovering from concussion as part of a highly collaborative interdisciplinary team. Our Occupational Therapists work alongside Sport and Exercise Physicians, Physiotherapists, and experienced support staff to provide coordinated, patient-centred care. Regular interdisciplinary discussions, shared learning, and collaborative treatment planning are a core part of how we work. This role would suit someone who enjoys building strong relationships, thinking holistically about recovery, and working closely with patients and stakeholders to help people navigate what can often be a complex recovery journey. About the Role The majority of your work will involve assessing, educating, and supporting patients recovering from concussion. You will work closely with patients, whānau, schools, employers, ACC, and healthcare providers to help individuals safely return to everyday activities, education, work, exercise, sport and community participation. Most services are delivered in clinic or via telehealth, with occasional community, school, or workplace visits as required. What You'll Be Doing Assess and support patients recovering from concussion and related persisting symptoms. Develop and implement individualised, goal-focused rehabilitation plans that support recovery and return to meaningful activities. Provide education and rehabilitation strategies relating to symptom management, fatigue, pacing, cognitive function, return to learning, return to work, and return to activity. Liaise with ACC, employers, schools, whānau, and healthcare providers to support coordinated rehabilitation and successful return-to-participation outcomes. Participate in interdisciplinary case discussions and treatment planning. Maintain high-quality clinical documentation, reporting, and billing. Contribute to professional development, service improvement, and ongoing service development initiatives. What We're Looking For Who You Are Enjoys working as part of a collaborative interdisciplinary team. Builds strong relationships and communicates effectively with patients, whānau, employers, schools, ACC, and healthcare providers. Can think critically, solve problems, and adapt their approach to meet the needs of each patient. Takes ownership of their work and follows through on commitments. Is organised, proactive, and able to balance clinical care, documentation, reporting, and stakeholder communication. Is passionate about helping people achieve meaningful outcomes and return to the activities that matter most to them. Qualifications & Experience Minimum two years' post-graduate Occupational Therapy experience. New Zealand Occupational Therapy registration and a current Annual Practising Certificate. Experience in rehabilitation, community rehabilitation, vocational rehabilitation, neurological rehabilitation, concussion management, or a related field. A genuine interest in concussion rehabilitation and interdisciplinary care. Full New Zealand driver's licence. Legal entitlement to work in New Zealand. Why Join Axis?
