This is an exciting opportunity to join the team at Wyndarra Farm ltd as an Assistant Herd Manager. Working in a full-time capacity, you will play a crucial role in managing and maintaining the health and productivity of the farm's dairy herd. Based in Rangiora, Canterbury, this position is essential to the overall success and operations of the farm. What you'll be doing Assisting the herd manager in the day-to-day care and management of the dairy herd Monitoring the health, feeding, and breeding of the cows Carrying out milking procedures and ensuring optimal milk quality Maintaining detailed records of herd performance and productivity Implementing herd management strategies and best practices Collaborating with the wider farm team to ensure efficient and effective operations Troubleshooting any issues that may arise and taking corrective actions What we're looking for Relevant experience in dairy farm management or a similar agricultural role Strong knowledge of dairy cattle husbandry, including feeding, breeding, and health management Excellent attention to detail and record-keeping skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Proficiency in the use of farm management software and technologies Commitment to upholding high standards of animal welfare and sustainability Excellent communication and problem-solving skills What we offer At Wyndarra Farm ltd, we pride ourselves on providing a supportive and rewarding work environment.
