We’re looking for a Customer Service Advisor to join our highly motivated Wanaka-based team in a full-time, permanent role. What you’ll be doing / He aha te mahi As a Customer Service Advisor, you’ll be one of the first points of contact for our community, helping customers navigate Council services with confidence. You’ll provide friendly, timely and practical support to QLDC ratepayers, residents, visitors and internal teams, making sure every interaction is handled with care and professionalism. The role will involve: Building positive relationships with customers and colleagues, ensuring enquiries are handled with empathy, accuracy and follow-through. Resolving customer enquiries at the first point of contact wherever possible, creating a smooth and helpful experience. Recording public requests and complaints through our Request for Service (RFS) system, helping connect customers with the right teams and contractors for action. Supporting customers and staff across the front counter, phone and email with clear, professional and approachable communication. Responding to correspondence and directing matters to the appropriate teams or contractors to keep requests moving. What you’ll bring to the role / Ko wai to Pukeka You’ll bring solid customer service experience, strong communication skills and a genuine commitment to creating positive customer outcomes. To best succeed in this role, you’ll have: At least three years’ experience in a customer service or administration role, ideally supported by a relevant tertiary qualification or customer service certification. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and relate well to a wide range of customers and colleagues. Excellent planning, organisation and attention to detail, with the confidence to multitask, prioritise and work effectively under pressure. Confidence using Microsoft Office and other desktop applications, with an interest in improving systems and processes. A professional, positive and customer-focused approach, including the ability to work well with internal teams and external contractors.
