Job Description
About the role: We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Fitter to support an established manufacturing plant in Mt Wellington. This is an initial three-month contract focused on completing outstanding mechanical maintenance tasks while the permanent maintenance team manages larger projects and priority work. You will need to work independently, organise your daily workload and safely complete maintenance tasks with minimal supervision. Responsibilities will include: Completing mechanical maintenance, repairs and minor plant modifications Maintaining pumps, motors, gearboxes, mixers, piping and production equipment Recording completed work through the site maintenance system Working safely within hazardous and controlled plant areas About the Company: Our client is an established international manufacturer operating from its Mt Wellington production site. The facility is an older industrial plant with chemical and solvent-based manufacturing areas. Candidates must be comfortable working around noticeable chemical smells, hazardous areas and changing seasonal temperatures. Skills + Experience: Level 4 Mechanical Engineering, Fitting and Machining, or equivalent trade qualification Strong industrial or manufacturing maintenance experience Strong health and safety awareness Chemical, paint, food, beverage or process manufacturing experience would be advantageous Availability for occasional overtime or weekend work Pay + Benefits: Initial three-month contract with potential to extend Monday to Friday, 7:00am to 3:30pm Immediate start Occasional overtime and weekend work Site-specific PPE provided About Us: Techtrade is a specialist engineering and trade recruitment company, offering short & long term contract work as well as permanent jobs for skilled candidates.
