As our business continues to grow, we are seeking an experienced and proactive Procurement Officer to manage purchasing activities, supplier relationships, and material supply across our manufacturing and construction operations. About the Role The Procurement Officer will play a key role in ensuring the timely and cost-effective procurement of materials, equipment, and subcontracted services required for our manufacturing facility and site installation projects. Working closely with project managers, production teams, estimators, and suppliers, you will help maintain smooth project delivery by ensuring materials are available when needed while achieving best value for the business. Key Responsibilities Source and procure construction materials, building components, equipment, and services. Manage supplier relationships and negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts. Obtain and evaluate quotations and prepare purchase recommendations. Raise purchase orders and track orders through to delivery. Coordinate material requirements with project managers and production teams. Monitor inventory levels and forecast procurement requirements. Ensure materials are delivered on time to manufacturing facilities and project sites. Maintain supplier databases and procurement records. Identify opportunities for cost savings and supply chain improvements. Resolve supply issues, delivery delays, and supplier performance concerns. Support tendering and estimating teams with pricing and supplier information. Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and quality standards. Skills & Experience Essential 3+ years' experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management. Experience within construction, manufacturing, building products, or related industries. Strong negotiation and supplier management skills. Excellent organisational and planning abilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced project environment. High attention to detail and commercial awareness. Desirable Experience in modular construction, prefabrication, or offsite manufacturing. Knowledge of New Zealand construction materials and supply chains. Experience using ERP, procurement, or inventory management systems. Qualification in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Construction Management, or a related field.
