Intermediate Hydraulic Engineer - Building Services Recruitment Brands - Auckland, North Island We are seeking an Intermediate Hydraulic Engineer to join a leading building services consultancy in Auckland CBD. You'll deliver core hydraulic services design while collaborating on mechanical and ESD components across high-performing, low-carbon projects. About the Role This hands-on technical role covers hydraulic design from concept through construction. Working alongside senior engineers, you'll produce detailed designs, complete fluid/pipe calculations, and coordinate across multidisciplinary project teams and clients. Key Responsibilities Deliver hydraulic services designs (hot/cold water, drainage, rainwater harvesting, trade waste, and gas systems). Perform pipe sizing, flow calculations, and hydraulic assessments. Assist with mechanical services and ESD goals to help meet project sustainability targets. Produce technical documentation compliant with the NZ Building Code and AS/NZS 3500 standards. Coordinate effectively with internal team members, architects, and client reps. What We’re Looking For Degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Environmental Engineering (or equivalent). 2-5+ years of NZ consultancy experience specializing in hydraulic building services. Solid working knowledge of AS/NZS 3500 and the NZ Building Code. Interest or experience in sustainable water design and building efficiency. Strong communication skills with the ability to manage project deadlines reliably.
