Reporting to the QA Lead the Test Analyst is passionate about quality assurance, technology excellence, and building reliable software systems that our customers depend on. As a Test Analyst, you'll be at the heart of ensuring our products meet the highest standards of quality and reliability. You'll combine hands‑on testing expertise with a strategic eye for building and maintaining effective testing frameworks. Your day‑to‑day will involve designing and executing risk‑based testing approaches, managing our regression and integration test suites, collaborating closely with development teams to identify and resolve quality issues, and mentoring junior team members to elevate testing practices across the organisation. You'll contribute to continuous improvement of our testing processes while providing clear visibility into product quality to support confident delivery decisions. Key Responsibilities: Plan, define and implement testing strategies and independently analyse requirements, risks and scenarios that focus on the areas that matter most to users and the business Hands‑on delivering manual and automated testing across web, cloud, and integrated systems, working closely with a technology team across a modern DevOps environment. Build, maintain and enhance automation framework and test suite with solutions that are effective and easy to support over time and help increase automation coverage Execute automated test suites, investigate failures and maintain the reliability of the automation pipeline Conduct various types of testing (Functional, exploratory, regression, integration, end‑to‑end) to identify gaps and ensure service stability across multiple products and platforms Create, maintain and execute clear testing documentation (plans, test cases, prepare test environment, test data) ensuring appropriate coverage of business‑critical functionality Identify gaps or ambiguities in requirements and proactively work with Product Owners, Analysts and Developers to identify risks early and help plan the right testing approach Coordinate and execute releases ensuring features validated and technical changes meet quality standards before release Collaborate with QA Lead, developers and technical leads to investigate quality issues, prioritise defects, and drive continuous improvement Provide guidance and support to Junior team members where appropriate by sharing expertise, providing constructive feedback, and fostering a culture of learning Key Qualifications Minimum 3–5 years of hands‑on software testing experience in structured software development environments, across the full development cycle along with a demonstrated ability in both manual and automated testing, with a track record of building automation solutions Solid understanding of software development lifecycle principles, testing methodologies, defect tracking and quality assurance frameworks Proficiency in tools such as Jira, Confluence, DevOps, Visual Studio Code and Postman Proactive, detail‑focused, and confident working autonomously with genuine ownership of product quality Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to influence testing practices across technical and business teams Degree/Diploma in relevant fields & Quality Assurance Certification (Preferred) Must have the right to work in New Zealand What Altus Group offers: Rewarding performance: We are pleased to be able to be provide employees competitive compensation, incentive and bonus plans, and a total rewards package that prioritizes their mental, physical and overall financial health.
