Technical Salesperson

Technical Salesperson – Engineering Design Software: SCADA Systems Ltd are the developers of a suite of electrical and instrumentation design software which is used internationally. We are looking for a Technical Sales Engineer or experienced technical salesperson to help develop direct customer and channel opportunities for Elecdes across international markets. This is a consultative technical-sales role and you should be comfortable speaking directly with engineers, designers, engineering managers and distributors and progressing suitable opportunities toward product demonstrations, trials and commercial discussions. A background in electrical, instrumentation and controls and/or familiarity with industrial software or applications engineering would be relevant and knowledge and experience in CAD systems would be particularly useful. Strong spoken and written English is essential, as is confidence communicating by telephone and in online meetings. We are looking for someone who combines technical credibility with commercial judgement and who has the ability to develop new sales opportunities and build long-term confidence with engineering customers. Responsibilities Responsibilities cover the whole sales cycle in achieving sales goals and expanding the business customer base: Identify and engage with new and existing customers Conduct tailored software demos Provide sales quotes and finalise contracts Meet and exceed sales targets Requirements Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with people across a wide variety of roles/industries. Strong interpersonal skills for communication, with a desire to build client relationships Basic knowledge of electrical and instrumentation/controls engineering is good to have, but not essential. Some knowledge of CAD, in particular AutoCAD helpful A strong work ethic, able to handle the fact that due to our mainly international markets, flexible hours are required – This is not a “9 to 5” job. Ability to quickly learn new technical skillsGood user level knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office applications. Attention to detail for record keeping and ability to collaborate as a team.
