Job Description
Unison Contracting Services Limited – Taupo, North Island Join the growing team at Unison Contracting! We are currently looking for Line Mechanics to join our team in Taupo. These are permanent full-time roles with guaranteed 40 hours a week and fortnightly pay in a stable and supportive environment. What you'll do, Fitting and erecting of poles and other line supports. Running out, staining up, sagging and binding-in of conductors. Erecting, fitting and connecting all necessary line equipment. Provide maintenance service by: Maintaining and overhauling transmission and distribution lines. Constructing/replacing damaged transmission and distribution lines. Regularly maintaining and testing equipment to the required standard. Provide a fault response service by: Accepting responsibility for initial identification of network faults. Engaging in repair of line and cable faults. Ensuring that faults have been adequately fixed before leaving the area. Ensuring that all safety procedures are followed and adhered to. Provide a cable laying service by: Digging appropriate trenches. Laying cables according to standards, specifications and plans. Installing transformers and pedestals. Recovering trenches. Livening cables on completion of work. Identifying trees that are causing obstruction to overhead lines. Removing trees or branches that are causing obstructions. Removing debris from site. General The Line Mechanic is often in close contact with customers and the public and needs to remain courteous and helpful at all times. The Line Mechanic works in a team environment and must actively seek to support and protect fellow team members. The Line Mechanic must be able to effectively apply first aid techniques when required. Complete documentation relevant to the performance of duties. Providing dedicated line construction services, installing new equipment and services to both overhead lines and underground cables. Repair and restore fault damaged lines, cables and equipment. Work with a team to ensure projects are completed on time and to budget. Be fully focused on Health & Safety. Complete documentation relevant to the performance of duties. This is a great opportunity if you Are an EWRB registered Line Mechanic, with at least 2 years' experience. Are a motivated, hardworking individual with a positive attitude. Hot stick / G&B certified, although this is not a must. Have a calm disposition and you are a team player.
