As we build our Buying team, we are seeking an experienced Senior Buyer who combines sharp commercial judgement with genuine product passion. You will know how to build profitable ranges, negotiate with confidence, analyse performance and identify the products and trends that will resonate with our customers. About the role Reporting to the Chief Creative Officer, you will contribute to the development and execution of category buying strategies, and commercial performance of your categories. You will deliver compelling, commercially balanced assortments that achieve sales, margin, stock turn, and profitability targets. This role extends beyond selecting product; you will have a strong instinct for how ranges should come to life in a physical retail environment to translate the buying vision into product presentations that inspire customers and support sell-through. Key responsibilities Contribute to the development and execution of category buying strategies aligned with the Faradays customer, brand positioning and commercial objectives. Lead seasonal buying, range architecture, assortment planning and product selection across assigned categories. Build commercially balanced ranges using sales analysis, customer insights, market intelligence and trend forecasting. Own sales, gross margin, stock turn, intake margin, markdown and profitability outcomes across your categories. Manage open-to-buy budgets and partner with internal stakeholders on forecasting, inventory flow and replenishment decisions. Analyse weekly trading performance and act decisively on opportunities, risks, underperformance and stock imbalances. Source, negotiate and manage strong relationships with premium local and international brands and suppliers. Monitor competitor activity, customer behaviour, emerging trends and market shifts to identify new commercial opportunities. Collaborate with Retail, Marketing, Ecommerce and Supply Chain to deliver coordinated and commercially effective product launches. Partner with the Visual Merchandising team to provide product context, range priorities and commercial guidance for in-store presentation. Consider how product stories, adjacencies and category relationships can be translated into an inspiring and intuitive retail experience. Mentor and support junior members of the buying team and contribute to the development of strong buying processes and disciplines. About you You are a commercially astute and product-led Buyer who understands that exceptional retail requires both financial discipline and emotional connection. You are equally comfortable reviewing a trading report, negotiating with a brand partner and walking the shop floor to understand how a range is being experienced by the customer. Significant buying experience within premium retail, fashion, beauty, lifestyle or a closely related category. A strong record of delivering sales growth, healthy margins, effective stock management and profitable category performance. Highly developed commercial and numerical capability, supported by advanced Excel skills. Strong negotiation skills and experience managing senior supplier and brand relationships. Experience managing seasonal buying cycles, range planning and open-to-buy budgets. A genuine love of product and strong awareness of customer, cultural and retail trends. A refined eye for product presentation and the ability to work constructively with Visual Merchandising specialists. Confidence translating commercial priorities and product stories into clear guidance for cross-functional teams. Strong planning, organisation and stakeholder management skills. A proactive, adaptable and accountable approach suited to a fast-paced, evolving business. This role requires a flexible approach to working hours to effectively collaborate with our international brand partners.
