Job Description
Alchemy Consulting – Auckland, North Island We are seeking a Site Operations Manager for a growing New Zealand manufacturing business. As the Site Manager you will have full financial responsibility for the site and be involved in budget preparation, CAPEX proposals and monitoring operational costs, continuous improvement and health and safety policy initiatives to ensure all plant and equipment is managed for maximum production output. You will play an important role in managing the day-to-day operations of the site and for the purpose are required to be well experienced in the operations of all departments, viz. production, quality, NPD health & safety, maintenance, purchasing and materials management. You will have a demonstrated track record of improvement, strategic analysis of data and the building of strong work teams and will direct all projects on continuous improvements within the organisation. You will also oversee the company Risk Management Programme and regulatory guidelines for the site and be involved in the creation of development plans for key staff, hiring for vacancies and ensuring staff welfare is managed. The position reports to the CEO Duties include: Hiring and supporting the site team to ensure all products meet defined quality expectations, developing customer-oriented solutions as required. Analysing results of site operations, determining variances from standard, and taking corrective action as needed. Facilitating equipment and facilities solutions to maximize product quality, efficiency and safety. Collaborating closely with the managers to ensure teams are aware of daily plant activities, including absences, scheduling coverage and product availability. Leading the achievement of a zero-injury workplace and ensuring health & safety and environmental compliance. Building a culture of mutual respect, teamwork, and professionalism, and demonstrating active support of the Company’s values and policies. Skills and Experience: 5 -10 years or more years of experience as a Site Manager within a highly regulated export-oriented production environment. Extensive knowledge of operations/processing and, Good Manufacturing Practice, quality, audit, NPD and plant automation. Continuous Improvement experience; TPM, and Lean Six-Sigma Remuneration for the role is easily among the best in the industry, and the role promises excellent career growth prospects to performers.
