Showroom Sales Consultant - Retail & Trade

Join our friendly team at Tilemax Thorndon! We’re looking for a motivated, sales-savvy individual to join our showroom as a Showroom Sales Consultant – Retail & Trade . This varied role is perfect for someone who enjoys working with customers, providing expert advice, and helping people find the right products for their projects. Tilemax is a locally owned Tile business with 12 stores nationwide, known for great products, strong customer relationships, and a supportive team culture. Key roles and responsibilities include: Assisting customers in choosing tiles and bathroomware for their homes and projects Providing exceptional customer service, from first contact through to sale Working closely with key account holders to foster and build growing relationships Maintaining the showroom’s visual appeal and presentation Processing sales and managing product enquiries Collaborating with a small team to achieve store goals What We’re Looking For: Some experience in sales or a trade-related industry is a plus (but not essential) Great communication skills and a friendly, approachable manner A passion for design, interiors, and helping customers find the perfect fit Adaptability, a positive attitude, and willingness to learn Strong attention to detail and an eye for presentation Confidence using point-of-sale systems and basic admin tools Someone with a passion for sales and drive for success What We Offer: Solid training and real career growth opportunities A supportive, down-to-earth team Variety, this isn’t a desk-only job Competitive pay + team incentives Experience working with a wide range of customers and projects Saturday work would be an essential part of this role, with flexibility on weekdays Please note: While this role is primarily focused on sales and customer service, it may also involve some physical tasks, such as setting up promotional displays, restocking shelves, or assisting customers with trade items.
