The New Zealand Law Society Te Kāhui Ture o Aotearoa is seeking an enthusiastic and proactive Engagement and Membership Advisor to support the In-house Lawyers Association of New Zealand (ILANZ), the professional community for New Zealand's in-house lawyers. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in growing member engagement, delivering high-profile events, and helping shape the future of the in-house legal profession. About the role Reporting to the ILANZ Manager, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality membership services, communications, events, and engagement initiatives that provide value to ILANZ members across New Zealand. No two days will be the same. You'll be involved in: Creating engaging member communications, including email bulletins, social media content, and marketing collateral. Supporting the development and delivery of ILANZ's webinar, networking, and professional development programmes. Playing a pivotal role in the delivery of the annual ILANZ Conference, including marketing, awards, speaker processes, branding, and event coordination. Building strong relationships with members, committee representatives, sponsors, and key stakeholders. Managing membership databases and providing valuable member insights and reporting. Maintaining and updating the ILANZ website and online member resources. Our ideal applicant will have: We're looking for someone who is organised, creative, and passionate about delivering outstanding member experiences. To be successful, you'll bring: At least three years' experience in event management, marketing, member engagement, or a similar role. Strong communication and stakeholder relationship management skills. A keen interest in business and current affairs. Confidence working with senior professionals and presenting to groups. Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Experience using CRM systems, databases, websites, Microsoft Office applications, and digital event platforms. A proactive, customer-focused approach and a continuous improvement mindset. An understanding of the legal profession or experience working within a membership organisation would be advantageous but is not essential.
