Embassy of the United States of America – Wellington Central, North Island The Embassy of the United States of America in Wellington invites applications for a full-time position of a Systems Manager located in the Diplomatic Technology Office. This is an opportunity to work within a small team as the Systems Manager, providing a range of LAN administration and hardware, software, and network support to the Mission. The incumbent ensures optimal systems performance; implements DOS network security and protection safeguards; develops methods to improve network capabilities; provides management advisory services and end-user support; and ensures confidentiality, integrity and availability of network services and data in accordance with Department of State directives. In addition, you will also supervise and provide work guidance to two System Administrators. To be considered for this position you must either option 1 or option 2 to qualify: Option 1: Have completed a degree in Computer Science or Information Technology and have five years of progressively responsible computer industry technical experience, at least two years of which should have been as a PC operator or programmer, systems analyst or administrator. Option 2: Completion of secondary school and eight years of progressively responsible computer industry technical experience, at least two years of which should have been as a PC operator or programmer, systems analyst or administrator. As a point of contact for customers, you must be comfortable with troubleshooting a variety of network and operating system related issues and demonstrate good interpersonal skills to develop/maintain positive relationships and explain the impact and severity of IT related events to non-technical people. The salary range for this position is NZ$125,183.00 - $168,997.00 per annum. Actual starting salary will be commensurate with experience and internal equities.
