Job Description
National Role | Reporting to the CEO | Auckland & Christchurch The Company Our team operates with passion, we celebrate the different skills everyone brings to the business, and our culture is focused on helping you be the best you can be, with everyone playing their part in delivering a great product to our customers. We're a fast-growing, privately-owned New Zealand plastics manufacturer, with two factories — one in Auckland and one in Christchurch. We already hold an excellent health and safety record, and as we continue to grow, we're investing in the right person to build on that platform and take it further. The Role Reporting directly to the CEO, you will take national ownership of health, safety and environmental performance across both our Auckland and Christchurch factories. This is a dynamic, hands-on role in a fast-paced, growing private company — you won't be managing from behind a desk. You'll be out on the floor at both sites, building relationships with our people, understanding how things really work, and driving practical change where it's needed. This role involves regular travel between Auckland and Christchurch, and close collaboration with site leaders and teams at both factories to ensure our health, safety and environmental standards keep pace with our growth. About You You will understand that maintaining our excellent existing safety record is vitally important, while also knowing how to identify and drive the next level of improvement You will take a strategic, national approach to health, safety and environmental management across multiple sites You will be genuinely hands-on — comfortable on the factory floor, not just in meetings or behind a desk You will have exceptional relationship and communication skills that build trust with people at every level, from the factory floor to the CEO You will have a history of making real change happen, not just maintaining what's already there You will be an innovative thinker with a track record of practical solutions to complex safety and environmental challenges You will bring solid knowledge of NZ health and safety legislation, and ideally experience with environmental compliance relevant to a manufacturing or plastics environment You will enjoy working in a fast-paced, growing private company, and thrive on the autonomy that comes with a national, CEO-reporting role What You Will Get in Return At our company, we value community and being a responsible and sustainable manufacturer in New Zealand. This position offers someone the opportunity to join a successful, fast-growing business with a positive, future-focused culture and a genuinely dynamic role. This is a critical role for our business, with real autonomy and a direct line to the CEO — if you're someone who can make things happen, then let's talk. #J-18808-Ljbffr
