Store Person – Dairy / Convenience Store Employer: AA Square Limited Job title: Store Person Reports to: Store Manager Location: Otara, Auckland, New Zealand Employment type: Permanent, full-time Trading hours: The store trades 6:00am – 7:00pm, 7 days a week Days / roster: 7-day rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays as rostered Hours per week: A minimum of 30 guaranteed hours per week, rostered within the store's 6:00am–7:00pm trading hours Pay rate: $24.00 – $30.00 NZD per hour, based on skills and experience (guaranteed hourly wage – no commission, piece rate or bonus component) About the role AA Square Limited operates a dairy (convenience store) in Otara, Auckland. We are looking for a reliable Store Person to handle day-to-day stock, till and customer service duties, reporting to the Store Manager. Key tasks and responsibilities Carry out day-to-day store person duties during trading hours (6:00am–7:00pm, 7 days a week), reporting to the Store Manager. Receive, check and record incoming stock and deliveries against invoices and purchase orders, and report any damage or discrepancies to the Store Manager. Unpack, price, label and shelve/merchandise stock so goods are stored and displayed correctly and safely. Monitor stock levels on the shop floor and assist the Store Manager with stock ordering and re-stocking. Help maintain accurate stock and inventory records, and assist with regular stocktakes to control loss and wastage. Operate the point-of-sale (till) system, process cash and eftpos transactions, and reconcile takings at the end of a shift. Assist with opening and closing the store, including basic cash handling and security procedures, as directed by the Store Manager. Follow food safety, health and safety, and store hygiene requirements. Comply with legal requirements for restricted products (e.g. tobacco and lotto), including age-verification checks. Provide friendly, efficient customer service and refer any complaints or issues beyond your authority to the Store Manager. Keep the store clean, safe and well-presented at all times. Carry out other reasonable store person duties as directed by the Store Manager. Minimum qualifications, experience and skills required NCEA Level 2 (or an overseas equivalent qualification), or a minimum of 1 year of relevant retail/store experience. Experience in a retail, dairy or convenience store environment is an advantage. Good numeracy skills for cash handling and stocktaking. Ability to work a 7-day rotating roster, including early mornings and weekends. Good communication and customer service skills.
