Davis Food Ingredients are seeking a Finance Manager, reporting to our CFO, to join our busy finance team. In this role, you will oversee daily finance operations, to ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone in a supervisory finance position looking for the next step in their career with a large privately owned and operated company. Our business involves the importation and distribution of a wide range of products to both wholesale and retail customers. We have over 350 staff and revenue of over $330million. You will manage and mentor a team of 5. There is the requirement for you to be strategically astute, confident, with the ability and desire to build strong relationships with your key stakeholders. You will be prepared to muck in with the team. A key part of this role is compliance and checking so attention to detail is a must. You will enjoy the day-to-day tasks but also look for opportunities to take on key projects, improve processes and tighten controls. Key tasks include: Supervising and supporting the finance team in daily tasks Effectively managing daily cashflow and the entire payment processes for the group Ensuring all tax payments are made to meet IRD/ATO deadlines Ensuring all bank accounts are kept reconciled at all times Overseeing operation of the trade finance facility Overseeing high volume accounts payable for local and overseas creditors Working with foreign currency and dealing with bankers Supervising the preparation and filing of statutory GST, FBT, DWT, PAYE returns, income tax returns, and the payment of relevant taxes Ensuing month end related accounts and finance related tasks are completed within set deadlines Providing accurate, relevant and timely financial information to the Exec Team for effective decision making. Ensure key financial internal controls are maintained and reviewed Assisting with the interim and year-end financial audits – dealing with auditor requests in a timely manner Assisting with preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting Providing training, guidance, and performance feedback to team members To be considered for this role you will need to have: Strong financial accounting skills Ability to review processes, Drive change and implement efficiencies Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal Excellent attention to detail Previous experience in automating accounts payable would be an advantage You will have a strong background in working in finance teams or professional services such as audit, with at least 3 years post qualification experience.
