The Opportunity We are looking for an experienced People & Capability Lead to join our HR Team on a 12-month fixed-term basis. This is a senior delivery role within the People & Capability function, responsible for turning agreed people priorities into practical plans and leading implementation across key programmes of work. Working closely with the HR Manager, you'll provide the execution capability needed to deliver major people initiatives, strengthen leadership capability, support policy implementation, lead organisational improvement activity and manage complex employment relations matters. This role will suit someone who enjoys both strategic context and practical delivery, someone who can understand the "why", build the "how", and keep momentum through to implementation, embedment and measurable outcomes. What You'll be Doing In this role you'll be a key driver in delivering Wellington Electricity's people priorities, working closely with the HR Manager to lead people programmes, organisational change initiatives and business improvement activity. The role is responsible for translating strategy into practical action, strengthening leadership capability, developing workforce and talent frameworks, providing senior employment relations support, and helping ensure the effective delivery of the People & Capability function. What you'll bring You'll bring at least 5 years' experience in a senior HR, People & Capability or HR Business Partner role, with a proven track record of leading people initiatives and partnering with leaders to deliver organisational outcomes. You'll have strong employment relations knowledge, experience managing complex people matters, and the ability to influence, coach and build capability across the business. You'll combine strategic thinking with a practical delivery focus and be comfortable working across multiple priorities in a dynamic environment. About you You're a collaborative, approachable and outcomes-focused HR professional who enjoys building strong relationships and working alongside others to achieve shared goals. As a small team, we rely heavily on open communication, partnership and regular discussion, so you'll be someone who communicates clearly, contributes ideas, actively shares knowledge and enjoys working through challenges together. You take ownership, build credibility quickly and are equally comfortable providing strategic input and rolling up your sleeves to get things done. Why Join Us?
