Plasterer and Painter

Excellent opportunity to join a successful and well-established Auckland basedconstruction company and become a part of a great team. The location of work is within Auckland Region. The duties include: Do the preparation such as to set up drop sheets to protect the area from splatters Prepare the work surface by cleaning them thoroughly, remove the old plaster and repairing imperfections Use plastering tools such as hand tools, trowels and plastering machines Mix paints / plaster to achieve desired colours and consistencies Apply primer as needed to ensure proper adhesion of paint or other finishes. Use painting tools such as brushes, sprays and rollers to paint the area Load and unload painting and plastering tools and materials May replace glass in frames and also repair wall and floor tiles Measure and cut the plasterboard and securing them in position Use sealing compounds to cover joins and nail holes and smoothing the surface Mix plaster, cement and apply it to the structures Inspect the surfaces and do the last check if any of the work need a touch-up or correction Clean and maintain the tools and equipment Collaborate with other team member to ensure a successful project Comply to health and safety standards to minimize risks and use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when necessary To be successful you will need: Have at least 2 years’ relevant work experience in the same field or industry Be a great team player, be able to follow instructions Be physically fit and willingness to work hard Good eye for details and an ability to solve problems practically A "can-do" attitude Benefits we offer: Opportunity to work on different sites and learn new skills A knowledgeable, high-achieving, experienced and fun team An international and diverse work atmosphere Priority will be given to NZ residence/citizens.
