Senior Solicitor / Associate - Property

Duncan Cotterill – Queenstown, South Island Are you a lawyer looking for your next opportunity in Queenstown? We are looking for a capable lawyer to join Duncan Cotterill’s Queenstown team. This role would suit someone with around 3–5 years’ experience in property, finance and private client work, or a mix of these areas, who is keen to develop their career within a supportive, well-connected national firm. With continued activity across Queenstown’s property, investment and private client market, this is a great opportunity to build meaningful client relationships in one of New Zealand’s most distinctive regional economies. You’ll work closely with experienced partners and senior lawyers on a broad range of matters for local, national and private clients. The role offers genuine variety, direct client contact, and the opportunity to grow your technical capability while contributing to a collaborative and commercially focused team. What you’ll be doing: Advising on a range of residential and commercial property matters, including sales and purchases, leasing and development work Supporting property finance and secured lending transactions, including refinancings and property-backed lending Assisting private clients with matters such as trusts, estate planning, asset structuring Building relationships with clients and providing clear, practical and commercially focused advice Working collaboratively with colleagues in Queenstown and the wider firm What we’re looking for: Around 3–5 years’ PQE, with experience in property, finance and private client work Strong drafting skills and good attention to detail A practical, client-focused approach and sound commercial judgement Confidence managing files, building client relationships and working as part of a team A positive, collaborative approach and genuine interest in developing your career in Queenstown Why Duncan Cotterill?
