About the Role We are seeking an experienced Receptionist to join our Oncology department at Waikato Hospital, Hamilton. As a successful Receptionist, you will play a key role in the smooth running of the cancer outpatient service. This is an 80-hour per fortnight, permanent position where you will be working from Monday to Friday between the hours of 8:00am to 4.30pm. Day to day you will be involved in meeting & greeting patients, booking follow up appointments and general reception duties. You will also ensure that patients are provided with the correct information they need to attend their appointment on the correct day and time. Key responsibilities of the role The Receptionist role is essential in assisting with the smooth running of the Oncology outpatient services. The role includes: Attending and departing patients Booking outpatient follow up appointments Communication with staff, patients and their families Telephone enquiries and general reception duties Organisation and distribution of patient documentation Maintaining accurate computer records Administration duties as required About the Team/Service Waikato Hospital in Hamilton is one of NewZealands largest tertiary, teaching hospitals. About you As a booking clerk In Cancer Service, we are looking for people who are: Organised, efficient and able to prioritise their workload effectively Exceptional at customer service via the telephone Detail oriented Computer literate Be a team member while able to work independently Experience in a health environment or knowledge of clinical terminology would be an advantage, but not essential.
