Job Description
Our client is based in Hastings and operates the largest freeze-drying facility in the Southern Hemisphere. This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established, high-performing production environment where safety, quality, and teamwork are key. This is a temporary position for at least 3 months. To be successful in this role, you will have: Good physical fitness and the ability to carry out manual tasks A reliable work ethic with a strong attendance record The ability to work independently and as part of a team A strong commitment to health & safety A positive attitude and willingness to learn and improve Previous packing line experience A valid forklift license (OSH) Must live in Hawke's Bay Be eligible to work in New Zealand Have a clear criminal record Be able to pass a pre-employment drug test Packing Line Operators are required to run the packing line along with all associated activities. They must be capable of doing this up to GMP standards expected in this type of food industry, and to specific standards as detailed in Company manuals and specifications. Packing Line Operators are part of a small team running the packing facility. They must be versatile and prepared to learn new duties. They must be able to organize their work routine to complete the tasks within the shift. Packing Line Operators are expected to be pro-active in the Company, looking for better ways of working and solutions to problems which may arise. Because they are part of a small team, they must try to keep a good working relationship and cooperate closely with other team members in their own team and in other areas such as freeze drying. Specific Areas of Responsibility Keeping the packing line and associated plant operating within the required process parameters and operating standards as detailed in Company manuals and specifications, or as instructed by Management. Moving the bins of dried product to the packing lines and placing them on the lines for packing. Getting the appropriate packaging materials for the product to be packed. Packing off finished product. Carrying out any QC checks required on finished product (including moisture tests, magnet checks, metal detector tests, FM checks, etc.). Keeping an accurate record of outputs, QC results etc. Carrying out all sanitation required on the line and in the general work areas and doing swab tests where required. Carrying out pre-operation checks on the packing line and working area to ensure the line is ready for use. Maintaining the work area in a clean, tidy and safe condition. This includes the packing areas and other areas where asked by the team leader. Keeping a high standard of personal hygiene and tidy appearance appropriate to food handling work. Reporting defects or quality or technical issues to the team leader as soon as they arise. #J-18808-Ljbffr
