Alliance Group has an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Shift Engineer, we are looking for a “can do” person for our Pukeuri Plant. The Role This role is part of a close-knit team of four, working 12-hour shifts (6–6) to provide 24/7 refrigeration support. Flexibility is key, with weekend work and some on-call duties required. This is a critical position responsible for the operation, maintenance and continuous improvement of our ammonia refrigeration plant and site utilities. This role is a key role in maintaining plant reliability while ensuring the highest standards of safety, compliance and operational excellence. You’ll work alongside an experienced engineering team in a modern processing facility where no two days are the same. Our plant operates with an advanced automated refrigeration system, and as a Shift Engineer, you’ll be the hands‑on expert ensuring it runs safely and efficiently. Key Duties of a Shift Engineer at Pukeuri: Compliance & Documentation Maintenance & Engineering Support About You We’re interested in people who are practical, safety-focused and enjoy solving problems. Ideally you’ll have: A Mechanical Engineering or Refrigeration trade qualification Experience working in an industrial or manufacturing environment Knowledge of ammonia refrigeration systems (highly desirable) Strong mechanical fault‑finding skills Experience using maintenance management systems Excellent communication and teamwork skills A commitment to health, safety and continuous improvement Familiarity with SCADA systems and industrial automation. Proficient in Microsoft Office and maintenance management systems. NZQA Unit Standard 3847 Confined Space and Permit to Work training What’s in it for you?
