Job Description

Founded in 1905 as the Straits Settlements and Federated Malay States Government Medical School, NUS is the oldest higher education institution in Singapore Key Responsibilities Lead the planning and delivery of AI-enabled educational projects, partnering with faculty and external organisations to understand teaching and learning needs and co-design solutions aligned with learning outcomes. Design, develop and evaluate AI-powered learning experiences, including role-play simulations, AI tutors, coaching chatbots, virtual patients, interview simulations, intelligent feedback systems, and other interactive learning applications. Lead the design, evaluation, and continuous improvement of AI-enabled educational platforms and digital learning tools, working closely with software engineers and designers. Develop prompts, agent workflows, evaluation frameworks, and AI guardrails to improve the quality, consistency, reliability, and educational effectiveness of AI interactions. Design and lead user research, pilot studies, classroom implementations, surveys, and interviews to evaluate usability, learner engagement, learning outcomes, and educational impact. Analyse qualitative and quantitative data to evaluate AI-enabled learning interventions and recommend improvements to learning design, AI behaviour, user experience, and product development. Collaborate with software engineers, designers, and academic stakeholders to translate pedagogical requirements into functional AI solutions, iteratively refining them based on user feedback and evaluation findings. Advise educators on integrating generative AI into teaching, learning, and assessment, taking into account pedagogy, responsible AI use, student learning outcomes, and institutional priorities. Design and facilitate workshops, demonstrations, and consultations that build educators' confidence and capability in adopting AI-enabled teaching and learning solutions. Keep abreast of developments in AI and educational technology, applying evidence-informed practices to improve educational innovation and contribute to the Centre's strategic initiatives. Founded in 1905 as the Straits Settlements and Federated Malay States Government Medical School, NUS is the oldest higher education institution in Singapore Qualifications Bachelor's degree from a recognised university, with strong pedagogical expertise demonstrated through formal training in education or substantial experience in schools, higher education, or other educational settings. A Master's degree in a relevant field will be an advantage. Substantial experience in designing, implementing, and evaluating teaching and learning initiatives, including the development of AI-enabled educational technologies such as chatbots, role-play simulations, intelligent tutoring systems, or other LLM-powered learning experiences. Strong understanding of large language models (LLMs), including prompt engineering, agent workflows, evaluation methodologies, and the capabilities and limitations of generative AI in educational contexts. Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English, with the ability to translate educational needs into effective AI-enabled learning solutions and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Strong interpersonal, project management, and organisational skills, with the ability to independently manage multiple projects and collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
