Financial Accountant

About the Role Reporting to the Financial Controller, you'll be responsible for maintaining the integrity of the financial records, delivering accurate financial reporting, supporting statutory compliance, and partnering with stakeholders across the business. This is a broad financial accounting role that offers plenty of variety and exposure across multiple areas of the business. Key responsibilities include: Month-end and year-end financial reporting Preparation of financial statements and supporting schedules Balance sheet reconciliations and general ledger integrity Revenue recognition and cost of goods sold journals Fixed asset accounting and reconciliations Accounts receivable oversight and cash flow reporting Preparation of GST, FBT and other statutory returns Supporting annual audits and tax compliance Preparing reporting Identifying opportunities to improve systems, processes and financial controls Partnering with operational teams (including procurement, inventory, manufacturing and sales) Are you a Financial Accountant looking for an opportunity where you can make a genuine impact within a growing and evolving business? You'll ideally bring: CA, CPA or equivalent accounting qualification Around 5+ years' experience in financial accounting Experience preparing statutory financial statements and annual reporting Strong understanding of accounting standards and financial compliance Experience using Xero or a similar ERP/accounting system Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with reporting tools such as Power BI (desirable) Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong working relationships across the business A proactive mindset with a continuous improvement focus Experience within manufacturing, technology or product-based businesses would be advantageous but is not essential.
