Espresso Machine Technician

You will be responsible for the servicing, repair, maintenance, fault-finding and installation support of espresso machines and coffee grinders, both on customer sites and in-house. This is a field-based role working from our Sydenham workshop and travelling to customer sites throughout Christchurch and the wider Canterbury region. You will work with premium domestic and commercial espresso machines, coffee grinders and automated coffee equipment. This role suits a qualified service technician who is hands-on, mechanically minded, reliable and confident working independently in the field while delivering excellent customer service. Full training will be provided across specialty espresso machine designs, machine functions, dismantling methods, repair techniques and manufacturer service standards. Key responsibilities Service and repair leading brands of espresso machines, coffee grinders and automated coffee equipment Complete scheduled maintenance for commercial customers across Canterbury Respond promptly to field service calls and troubleshoot faults on-site Diagnose electrical, mechanical and hydraulic faults Accurately record all work using Tech Ops Job Management System Support installations, machine changeovers and commissioning work when required Maintain a clean, organised and professional work vehicle and workspace Deliver a high level of customer service at every touchpoint Represent Espresso Tools professionally when working with customers About you A current EST or EAS licence Previous experience as a service technician A full, clean New Zealand driver licence Strong hands-on mechanical and practical ability Good fault-finding and problem-solving skills The ability to work independently and manage your own jobs Clear communication skills with customers and team members Pride in high-quality workmanship The physical ability to lift and move heavy equipment safely Benefits Competitive pay rates based on expertise, experience and capability Long-term, secure employment with a growing specialist company Company vehicle provided — Ford Transit manual iPhone, iPad and full uniform supplied Ongoing technical training and career development Varied field work across premium domestic and commercial coffee equipment Supportive small-team culture with practical hands-on support Opportunity to develop specialist knowledge in espresso and coffee equipment Structured on-call roster every 6th weekend About us Espresso Tools is a New Zealand specialist in domestic and commercial espresso machines, coffee grinders, servicing, installations and technical support.
