Website: www.edenoffice.co.nz The Role We are looking for an experienced contract CFO to work alongside us for 1–2 days per week, on-site, for up to 24 months. Your job is to coach our Finance Manager (FC), build genuine internal capability, and bring big-business rigour to a stable but fast-growing family business now operating across multiple entities and jurisdictions. We want someone experienced but hands‑on, ready to roll up their sleeves, fit into our candid culture of 'hungry, humble and smart', and drive long‑term improvement in results. You'll need to be a coach and a do‑er: comfortable in the detail when it matters, and comfortable in helping our team carry things forward. We'll pay market‑leading rates for the right person. Hours: 1–2 days per week, on-site Duration: 24 months, with potential to convert to full time Location: Auckland, NZ Key Responsibilities - what you'll establish and oversee Reporting and controls Multi-entity ANZ group management accounts and consolidation framework Monthly 3‑way forecasting cadence (P&L, balance sheet, cashflow) Financial standards, policies and reporting for the new Eden Australia entity Project finance framework for Ontask intl projects (WIP, claims, job‑level reporting) AU/NZ tax oversight and transfer pricing approach Commercial finance Pricing system review and improvement GP analysis and margin management framework FX hedging strategy Working capital optimisation Capital budget planning and allocation methodology Job costing methodology Strategic Finance systems review and upgrade roadmap Coaching and capability‑building for our Financial Controller and broader finance function M&A opportunity assessment and due diligence support Who we're looking for: An experienced CFO with deep operating exposure to importing and manufacturing businesses, and a track record across both large organisations and SMEs. Trans‑Tasman, multi‑entity and M&A experience preferred. You are: Execution-first and disciplined. Willing to roll up your sleeves and get into the detail, not just delegate and review. You finish what you start and are focused on execution - getting things done, on time, as planned. Analytically rigorous. Obsessive about accuracy and detail. You spot errors and opportunities quickly and get things right. Humble. Low ego. Comfortable in a family business where everyone pitches in. You treat the warehouse team with the same respect as the board. You actively seek feedback, admit mistakes fast, and give credit to others. Radically candid. You understand M&A, trans‑Tasman structures, group consolidation and project accounting, and can hold your own as a strategic partner to the GM and shareholders.
