Maintenance Fitter – Food Manufacturing based We're on the hunt for an experienced Maintenance Fitter to join our team and help keep our machines running at their best. About the Role In this role, you'll play a key part in keeping our maintenance department humming, supporting optimal machine uptime across the plant. You'll be hands‑on with everything from planned maintenance to troubleshooting mechanical faults, all while working in a safety‑first and hygiene sensitive environment. What You'll Be Doing Carrying out general machine maintenance in a food manufacturing setting Ensuring planned maintenance is completed within BOP (Basis of Planning) Meeting all relevant unit standards Executing both planned and unplanned maintenance activities Providing ongoing process support to keep production moving Troubleshooting and rectifying mechanical equipment faults Monitoring your work area and reporting any abnormalities Inspecting plant and equipment, and reporting defects Installing new equipment as required Completing safety checklists and equipment examinations Complying with all WorkSafe requirements Keeping your work area clean and tidy Conducting visual inspections on process and equipment Carrying out welding and fabrication tasks as needed What You'll Bring A recognised Trade Test qualification (Mechanical Fitter/Welder/Fabricator) 3–5 years' experience in the Food or FMCG industry At least 3 years' hands‑on experience maintaining gearboxes, conveyors, and food processing equipment Solid skills in pneumatics/hydraulics and welding/fabrication Experience with essential services such as boilers, compressors, and air conditioning Strong problem assessment, analysis, and diagnostic skills The ability to multi-task and stay cool under pressure Great communication skills, both verbal and written Confidence to work independently without direct supervision Computer literacy, with good working knowledge of SAP Physical capability to work on large equipment #J-18808-Ljbffr
