Wallis's Nurseries is a wholesale plant nursery supplying premium-quality plants to garden centres, landscapers, developers, and retailers throughout New Zealand. As our business continues to grow, we're looking for an experienced, enthusiastic sales professional to join our management team. Based in Dunedin, this role offers the opportunity to enjoy an outstanding lifestyle while working in an interesting, dynamic industry. About the role This is a senior sales role. You'll work closely with our on-road sales representative and oversee customer relationships across New Zealand while working alongside production and nursery management to ensure the right plants are available at the right time for our customers. You'll play a key role in identifying new market opportunities, expanding our customer base, initiating new product lines and helping shape the future direction of the business. This isn't just a desk job; you will need to be comfortable going on the nursery to assess product growth and carrying out final quality checks. Key responsibilities Manage sales across garden centre outlets throughout New Zealand. Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing customers. Prepare quotes for landscapers and preparing tenders for large scale projects. Identify emerging market opportunities and contribute to new product development. Collaborate with the sales office and despatch on order processing and delivery timeframes. Assist with seasonal planning and sales forecasting. What we're looking for The successful applicant will have: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong organisational and time-management abilities. A genuine passion for the ornamental plant industry, plant knowledge is beneficial. A practical, hands-on approach and an enthusiasm for getting outside and working directly with our plants.
