About the Role As the new ICU and Patient at Risk Nurse Educator you will be joining an experienced and dynamic senior nursing team which champions a high standard of quality nursing care. You will coordinate an innovative continuous quality improvement programme for the ICU. You will be working with the nursing team to plan, implement and support their professional growth and development. This is an opportunity to step up into a nursing leadership position with a supportive team and provide the coaching and support that with make a significant impact on induvial nurses career as well as the whole ICU team culture. About you Minimum of 4-5 years nursing experience within critical care Current APC and adult teaching certificate (or plan to complete this or similar) An understanding of the significance of the and the obligations under Te Tiriti o Waitangi, including how to apply Te Tiriti Principles in a meaningful way. Post Graduate Diploma or working towards this within agreed timelines. Clinically strong in critical care nursing and the management of the deteriorating patient. About the Team/Service The Intensive Care Unit is a multi-disciplnary team which works closely together, striving to provide exceptional critical care and whanau support. The PAR service is a team of highly skilled senior critical care nurses providing support throughout the hospital related to the identification, assessment and care of the deteriorating patient. About the Location Te Pae Hauora o Ruahine o Tararua – MidCentral is a 350-bed hospital in the city of Palmerston North, Manawatū, a city in the Lower North Island of New Zealand. Palmerston North Hospital is a secondary hospital and offers most medical and surgical specialties with the exception of Cardiothoracic, Plastic and Neurosurgery. The hospital serves a local population of 180,000 but is the base for a regional head and neck oncology service which has responsibility for a population of 550,000 and draws patients from Whanganui, Taranaki, and Hawke's Bay.
