Mō te tūnga | About the role We are looking for a full-time, permanent Administration Support Officer to join our Property Team at Christchurch Men's Prison . Reporting to the Reception & Movements Manager, you will be an integral part of a small but dedicated team that supports the Receiving Office, where people in our care are processed as they arrive, leave, or transfer to another prison. In this role, you will be primarily responsible for the accurate collection, collation, recording, storage, and management of personal property belonging to people in our care. The team is also responsible for managing the property of people in our care at Rolleston Prison. Computer literacy and excellent attention to detail are essential, as you will be responsible for entering and maintaining information within the Department's databases. This is a people-focused position and involves regular interaction with people in our care, staff, and members of the public visiting the prison. The position is based at Christchurch Men's Prison and operates on a cyclic roster that includes weekend work. Please note that the enclosed Job Description (JD) carries the general working title of Administration Support Officer . This JD covers a range of administrative positions across Corrections, including Property Officers. Depending on operational requirements, you may be required to undertake some or all of the duties outlined within the overall Administration Support structure. We are interested in hearing from people who have a genuine interest in our Kaupapa and who possess the following skills and experience: Strong computer literacy, including sound working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally and confidently with people in our care, staff, and visitors. The ability to process information quickly and accurately, with a high level of attention to detail. A willingness to learn new skills, follow instructions, and ask questions when required. A strong work ethic and the ability to work effectively as part of a team. The ability to follow policies, procedures, and compliance requirements consistently. Good physical fitness, as the role involves regular lifting and movement of property items. A Full New Zealand Driver Licence is required for this position. Applicants must be a New Zealand citizen, New Zealand Resident Visa holder, Australian citizen, or an Australian resident holding a current Australian Resident Return Visa. The salary for this role is $64,717 - $68,434 per annum. Appointment and remuneration will reflect skills and experience relevant to the role.
