Part-Time Bookkeeper / Accounts Coordinator Are you an experienced bookkeeper or accountant who's stepped back from full-time work, but still wants something real to sink your teeth into? Vanlifer is a fast-growing campervan manufacturing and e-commerce business based in Wairau Valley, Auckland, and we're looking for a part-time Accounts & Business Coordinator to take ownership of our day-to-day financial administration. This is a hands-on, varied role covering everything from Xero bookkeeping and payroll through to job costing, Shopify reconciliations and management reporting. You'll be the financial backbone of the business, working closely with the directors, CFO and our external accountants. We don't need you nine-to-five. We need you sharp, experienced, and available around 15-20 hours a week - ideally across a minimum of two days in our Wairau Valley office, with the rest done from home whenever suits you (school hours work perfectly). What you'll be doing Bookkeeping & Compliance Xero bookkeeping and bank reconciliations Accounts payable and accounts receivable Payroll processing and administration GST preparation and compliance support Weekly payment runs (domestic and international suppliers) Credit card and expense reconciliations Balance sheet reconciliations Cash & Debtors Cashflow monitoring and reporting Assistance with cashflow forecasting Debtor management and customer follow-up Shopify & E-commerce Shopify sales and payment gateway reconciliations Processing international supplier payments and managing supplier accounts Management Reporting Monthly job costing reviews across campervan builds and projects Gross profit reporting by project and business division Labour, materials and subcontractor cost tracking against budgets Monthly management accounts support KPI dashboards and performance reporting Budgeting and forecasting support Identifying cost overruns and margin improvement opportunities What we're looking for Strong Xero experience (essential) Solid payroll knowledge Experience reconciling Shopify or other e-commerce sales channels (a bonus) Sound understanding of NZ accounting and GST requirements Experience with job costing or project-based businesses (highly valued) Ability to process international payments and work with overseas suppliers Confident with Google Sheets Commercially minded -you care about business performance, not just data entry Self-managing and proactive -you can run with things independently Why this role works for you School hours friendly - build your schedule around the kids, not the other way around Hybrid - minimum 2 days in our Wairau Valley office, rest remote Genuine flexibility - we care about output, not clock-watching Meaningful variety - this isn't a data-entry role; you'll be across the full financial picture of a growing business Supportive team - small, down-to‑earth, direct-access to the directors The details Location: Wairau Valley, Auckland (North Shore) Hours: 15-20 hours per week (flexible, school hours welcome) Rate: $30-35 per hour depending on experience Start: ASAP About Vanlifer Vanlifer designs and builds campervans and sells van conversion gear online.
