Job Description

As a result of this growth, we are looking for a Survey Technician to join our Mount Maunganui office. This position is full time and will involve a mix of field and office work across assorted sites in the wider Bay of Plenty and Waikato areas. We would ideally like someone: · with at least 3 years of relevant experience in a surveying company or 2 years post qualification experience · experience in 12d and CAD software · with great enthusiasm and willingness to learn · with exceptional communication skills · who has the ability to work efficiently and accurately, without micro-management · who can share opinions, have a laugh and join in with office banter · who is active and enjoys the outdoors · who is punctual and reliable · who has a NZ Full driver license - manual essential Health & Safety · Promotion of H&S within the company, including record keeping as required by company policy · Be aware of H&S requirements for yourself, co-workers and members of the public · Report all H&S hazards, accidents, near misses or relevant issues to a H&S officer · Report any damages or equipment issues as soon as possible Technical Skills · Proficient use of all survey equipment and survey procedures for fieldwork · Preparation of surveying plans, including scheme plans, cadastral, and topographical surveys · Proficient in CAD, 12D, & Landonline · Monitoring and maintaining survey equipment certifications · Knowledge of drafting standards Soft Skills · Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities · Effective project prioritization and time management · Clear and professional communication with clients and stakeholders · Leadership skills for mentoring and guiding junior staff · Proactive approach to professional development and CPD accreditation · Attention to detail for risk management and QA processes · Health & safety awareness and compliance Measures of Success · Independent practice (as above), achieving project target deliveries, dates and budgets · Evidence of mentoring and upskilling junior staff · Positive client / stakeholder feedback, awareness of potential business development opportunities What we offer · A fantastic team culture and environment · Two 90-minute lunch breaks per week to get the heart rate up · Health and Life Insurance provided, with subsidised rates for your family · A flexi-time policy that complements our healthy body, healthy mind approach · A supportive environment that encourages growth and career development · A day off on your birthday · Annual medical check allowance · Plenty of staff functions and fun events injected throughout the year, plus more!
