Sales Support Specialist

H J Asmuss & Co Ltd – Wellington Central, North Island Based in our Wellington branch this newly created role is designed to strengthen our sales capability across the Lower North Island. Here you will be an integral part of our sales team, working alongside our Customer Service Representatives, External Sales team and Regional Sales Manager to deliver outstanding customer service, prepare competitive quotations and identify opportunities to grow our business. About the Role This role combines commercial expertise, customer relationship management and sales support. You will assist our external sales team while they're out meeting customers, prepare quotations, source pricing, coordinate supplier information and ensure our customers receive timely, professional service. You will also proactively engage with customers, follow up quotations, identify sales opportunities and help drive profitable growth. Key Responsibilities Build strong relationships with suppliers and customers - delivering an exceptional customer experience. Prepare and manage customer quotations and follow up outstanding quotations. Source pricing for stock and indent products. Analyse margins, freight and commercial costs. Produce quotation and sales reports. Identify opportunities to increase customer spend. About You You are someone who: Understands pricing, margins and profitability. Enjoys solving customer problems. Is organised and able to manage multiple priorities. Can work independently while supporting a wider team. Experience or a background in industrial, engineering, steel or building products would be advantageous. Why Join Us?
