Production is dedicated to infant nutrition products and as such quality is our highest priority. www.springsheepnz.com PURPOSE OF POSITION We’re looking for a Maintenance Technician to help keep our manufacturing plant running safely, reliably and efficiently. You’ll be responsible for preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of equipment across the site. This includes preventative maintenance tasks and breakdown support involving pumps, valves, and other mechanical systems. The role also involves supporting automation and utilities systems to ensure consistent plant performance. The Maintenance Technician works closely with the production team to resolve equipment issues, minimise downtime, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance plant reliability and efficiency. The position also includes after hours on call maintenance support, helping to ensure continuous production. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES As Maintenance Technician you will: Perform planned and reactive maintenance to keep equipment in optimal condition. Follow standard preventative maintenance procedures and ensure equipment is safely returned to production. Disassemble, service, and reassemble rotary valves, Alfa Laval pumps, valves and other Tetra Equipment. Use of CMMS system (Upkeep) to log, track and close out maintenance activities. Troubleshoot mechanical and process faults, identifying root causes and solutions, communicating clearly with the wider team. Work closely with a site supervisors and production staff to maintain safe and efficient operations. Provide after-hours on-call maintenance support, attending to breakdowns to ensure production continuity. Help develop and implement preventative maintenance strategies to reduce breakdowns and improve reliability. Support continuous improvement and capital projects, to enhance plant performance. Contribute to maintaining RMP, hygiene and food safety standards across all maintenance activities. Skills and experience Tertiary Qualification in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. Strong problem-solving and fault finding ability. 2 years’ experience in spray drying or similar manufacturing operations preferred with experience with Tetra equipment. Experience in Food manufacturing environment. Strong mechanical background and self management skills. Great opportunities for professional growth and development within a steadily growing business.
